--Firefighters--
You work an eight hour shift a day>>
They work 3 times that at once

You take a warm shower to help you wake up.>>
The pouring rain at an accident keeps them awake.

You complain of a "headache", and call in sick.>>
They are chilled to the bone, haven't eaten all day, have the flu, and then they still run into a burning building
__________________________
You drink your coffee on your way to the mall.>>
They're pumping on a five years olds chest on the way to the hospital to save him.
__________________________
You make sure you're cell phone is in your pocket.>>
They make sure the pass device on their pack is working properly.
__________________________
You talk trash about your "buddies" that aren't with you.>>
They watch their buddy fall through four burning floors and still fight the fire.

You walk down the beach, staring at all the pretty girls.>>
They walk down the highway looking for the motorcyclist's missing limb.

You complain about how hot it is outsaide.>>
They wear 45-50 pounds of gear on a hot summer day and then drag a body out of 1600 degree flames to save them.

You go out to lunch, and complain because the restaurant got your order wrong.>>
They haven't eaten yet today.
__________________________
Your maid makes your bed and washes your clothes.>>
They've worn the same stinking, soaked with sweat clothes for the past 24 hours because there is NO time for a shower.

You go to the mall and get your hair redone.>>
They hold the hair of some college girl while shes puking in the back of the ambulance.

You're angry because your class ran 5 minutes over.>>
Their shift ended 2 hours ago and are still not expected to leave anytime soon.

You call your girlfriend and set a date for tonight.>>
They call their boy/girlfriend to tell them they made it out of the fire alive....then leaves abrubtly for another one.

You yell and scream at the engine that just passed you because they slowed you down.>>
They're in the back of the engine, going to cut somebody out of their car only to find out that they are dead and their daughter is barely alive.

You roll your eyes as a baby cries.>>
BUT this firefighter missed the birth of his son because of a drunken teenager in a car accident.

You criticize your fire dept and say they are never their quick enough anyways.>>
They blow the air horn while the person in front of them refuses to move out of the way, because she is talking on her cell phone and applying makeup.
__________________________
You hear the stories about fallen firefighters and say they should have known better.>>
They feel the floor give way while they're carrying an old lady from her bedroom and then tosses her on to the hard floor as they fall into the unknown.

You see the bright lights when you go by.>>
They see the broken bodies lying around the car.
__________________________
You are asked to go to the store by your parents. You don't.>>
They look into buying a bullet proof vest because they've been shot at while trying to save the shooting victims life.

You stay at home and watch TV.>>
They take their spare time to wash the engine, restock the ambulance and maybe call their spouse to tell them not to worry, they'll be home soon

ou crawl into your soft bed, with down pillows, and get comfortable.>>
They try to sleep on their spring board bed but they keep getting woken up by the bells, "ahh, one hour of sleep, it should do till tommorow night".

You sit there and judge them, saying that its a waste of money to have them around.>>
Garbage truck workers make more than fireman do, but its not for the money, its for the people who don't appreciate what they do.
